Detroit’s Twin Hex-Pin System

Designed to take up play.

As pivots wear, looseness can develop. Detroit’s two-piece hex-pin design allows adjustment at the crossbar and L-arm pivots to take up that play. Oil-impregnated bronze bushings complete the pivot assembly.

Oil-impregnated does not mean maintenance-free. Follow Detroit’s adjustment, lubrication and inspection instructions for your unit.

Questions about
your build?

Truck fit, installation and what comes next.

Will a wheel lift work on my truck?

It depends on your truck’s configuration—not just its model badge. Send the year, make, model, bed length and a photo of the weight-rating label inside the driver’s door. We review the truck and selected lift together before confirming fit. Still shopping? Send us the truck you’re considering before you buy.

Should I choose Lil Hercules or Baby Gladiator?

Start with how you use your pickup. Lil Hercules mounts below the bed, with its pump and batteries in a bed-mounted toolbox. Baby Gladiator puts the lift structure and power system in the bed. Your truck, available space and the vehicles you plan to tow help determine which is the better fit.

What is included in the installed price?

Unit-only pricing covers the equipment, not installation. Our Lil Hercules installed package includes frame reinforcement, rear-suspension work and the listed towing equipment. Baby Gladiator installation includes rear suspension; reinforcement and the HD bumper are separate selections. Your written quote confirms the included work, selected extras and any applicable tax or freight charges.

Can I still use my truck when I’m not towing?

The layout matters. Lil Hercules leaves the lift beneath the bed, but its power-system toolbox still uses bed space. Baby Gladiator occupies more of the bed. Both add weight. Tell us what you carry and whether you pull a trailer so we can review usable space, hitch clearance and the truck’s ratings—not assume everything stays unchanged.

How long will you need my truck?

Time in the shop depends on the truck preparation and work included in your build. That is separate from waiting for equipment or an available appointment. We work through the estimated drop-off and pickup schedule with you after reviewing the truck and equipment availability. Confirm that schedule before booking travel.

Can I see one work before I buy?

Yes—arrange a visit to see our installed Lil Hercules in action. Our team can walk you through the equipment and guide you through the controls so you can get a feel for it yourself. Confirm your appointment and demonstration availability with us before making the trip.

Can you help with airport pickup and drop-off?

Complimentary airport pickup and drop-off can be arranged for installation customers visiting from out of town. Talk with us before booking your flights so we can confirm the airport, dates and ride availability alongside your installation schedule.

Who do I call if I need help after installation?

Start with San Jacinto Wreckers. Tell us which unit you have and what you need help with so we can work through the next step, including manufacturer support where appropriate. Equipment warranty coverage and installation-related concerns are reviewed separately; the applicable written terms determine coverage.
